A hole lot of water infrastructure

16 August 2024

YVE Group has been involved in the early stages of design and construct works for wastewater infrastructure at Shepherds Lane as part of Redstone Estate, Sunbury for Greater Western Water (GWW).

The project is designed to support the growing Sunbury community.

YVE partnered with Aquatec, Spiire and Villawood Properties to design and construct a sewer pump station, construction of about 60m of sewer reticulation, design and construction of sewer rising main.

Throughout the project, we have managed deep excavations, relocation of existing services and a small portion of works inside the existing GWW water pumping station.

YVE’s site works have included the bulk excavation for installation of a 12m deep concrete wet well, 600kL of emergency storage and two 8m deep Fiberglass Reinforced Plastic (FRP) manholes.

At multiple stages throughout the installation, YVE’s team co-ordinated dual crane operations to safely instal the storage vessels, measuring an impressive 3.5m x 23m long.

By the completion of works, we will have installed another four FRP maintenance varying between 7m to 0m deep, laid and connected over 150m of 375-600 diameter Glass Reinforced Plastic (GRP) pipe work, of which 80m will be installed via trenchless technology.

YVE will also be amending an existing sewer rising main to divert additional waste into the Shepherds Lane pump station upon the completion of works.
