YVE partners with WaterAid Australia

14 February 2022

YVE has partnered with charity WaterAid Australia, which focuses on providing clean water, decent toilets and good hygiene for the world’s poorest and most marginalised people.

These are basic human rights and should be a normal part of daily life for everyone, everywhere – but they aren’t.

Did you know?

  • 1 in 10 people don’t have clean water close to home
  • 771 million people in the world do not have clean water close to home
  • 1.7 billion people in the world do not have a decent toilet of their own.

WaterAid is working with partners, such as YVE, in some of the toughest places in the world to enable entire communities to unlock their potential, break free from poverty and change their lives for good.

While installing taps and toilets is essential to WaterAid’s work, it also convinces governments to change laws, link policy makers with people on the ground, pool knowledge and resources and rally support from people and organisations around the world, making lasting change happen on a massive scale.

With over 30 years’ experience installing water services for residential, industrial, commercial and infrastructure projects, YVE Group understands the importance of water as an essential service and for this reason it was a logical choice to choose WaterAid as a charity partner.

“Water is such a precious commodity and with such a vibrant and knowledgeable water sector in Victoria there is much we can contribute to WaterAid to help Australia’s neighbours access their basic human right,” said YVE Group General Manager Alastair Garlick.

Alastair and his YVE team will attend the charity’s annual fundraiser the WaterAid Ball, on March 18, which will be the first ball in three years due to Covid-19 restrictions.

In 2019 the ball raised $294,645.
